Training Requirement
As per NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Local Law 196, supervisors are required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training. This NYC Department of Buildings-Approved curriculum is a prescribed (required) course that fulfills one of the requirements for an individual applying for a Supervisor Site Safety Training (SST) Card. This course also satisfies the requirements for an individual applying for renewal of a Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor's Card only and is NOT to be used to renew Site Safety Coordinator Certification or Site Safety Manager/Superintendent License.
Description
This course offers a comprehensive review of Chapter 33 and the Rules of the City of New York related to ensuring public safety during construction activities. Its primary goal is to deliver instruction on the construction of significant buildings, as classified by the New York City Building Department. The focus is on ensuring safety not only for the public and neighboring properties but also for workers within the construction site, in compliance with OSHA regulations. Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for obtaining or renewing an SST Supervisor Card. It's important to note that this online course CANNOT be utilized for renewing a Site Safety Coordinator Certification or Site Safety Manager/Superintendent License. To renew that license, participants must attend the course either in person or through a virtual classroom setting before becoming eligible to apply for a Coordinator Certificate or Site Safety Manager/Superintendent License Renewal.
